Born in Russian Brjansk, Slava Nikolaev studied design at the Brjansk University for Modern Technology. His caricatures were first published in the American Newspaper The Oregonian followed by several exhibitions. Since 1996 Nikolaev lives and works in Berlin, Germany, being a caricaturist and graphic designer for the publisher Russkaja Germanija. Still being exhibited worldwide Nikolaev also worked in the art department for film productions like Enemy at the Gate (USA, 2000 - 2001) and Roman Polanski's The Pianist (Babelsberg 2002, three Oscars). Momentarely Nikolaev works on his projekt Katzenvolk ("cat people") of which several drawings are offered here.
